Elon and Don’s bromance went nuclear and they were in all out war last week. At its worst, Elon said that the only reason the Epstein files haven’t been released is bc Trump is implicated by them. Zing! (Although I note that there is a picture of Elon at a party w Ghislaine Maxwell so he’s not exactly above reproach on that front.)
As a result of this blowup, the Internet delivered what is to me one of the funniest memes in recent memory and I only post it here because I love it so much and not bc I think it holds any significance beyond that:
What I did find very interesting was Elon’s June 8th post where he flexes on the Don and the other technocrats:
“We have got the spaceships, and they do not.” It caught my eye bc of my theory that Musk and the other Tolkien-obsesssed power brokers of our world will be the ones who discover and scatter the Lehite remnant using technology. Sam Altman may have the “thinking” algorithms, Lucky Palmer may have the weapons systems, Peter Thiel may hold the puppet strings connecting them all, and Trump may have the Presidency, but Musk has the SPACEships, and good luck getting anywhere without him.
And wouldn’t you know, this week tensions seem to be easing in the Elon/Don drama.
